Carne Asada made in Pressure Cooker

So Carne Asada is basically skirt steak with tons of flavor.  It is very good on corn or flour tortillas.  Also the longer you let it marinate the better it taste.  So make sure you marinate the night before while you are cooking another amazing recipe of mine in your pressure cooker.  I do recommend that you eat your Carne Asada tacos with pico.  Also these are great served with my famous black bean pressure cooker recipe.

What you need to make

1.5 -2  pounds of skirt steak, sliced into 1/4″ pieces
1/4 cup of onion
2 tsp of minced garlic
1/8 cup of lime juice
1/4 cup of orange juice
2 tsp of chili powder
2 tsp of soy sauce
1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
1 tsp of cumin powder
1 tsp of smoked paprika
dashes of some salt and pepper
pico for tacos

How to make Carne Asada

First, you will marinate like I stated above, I do overnight or at least 3 hours. Once I am ready to make dinner here is what I do.  I turn my pressure cooker onto simmer mode with some olive oil, my garlic, and onions.  I cook both of those till the onions are translucent.  Now I turn my pressure cooker off simmer mode and place my meat, with the juices inside stir it around with my garlic and onions. It helps the meat get the flavor from the garlic and onion.  Then on put the lid on and select manual and cook for 5 minutes, yes you have adjust to that time..  Once the timer has beeped, I turn off my machine and let the pressure naturally release for 15-20 minutes.  Once the time is up I will open the valve and let out the remaining pressure left over. Then I open the lid and smell amazing beef that makes my mouth water.  Now sit back and enjoy your Carne Asada homemade dish that you just made yourself.

Tip for you if you are using more than 2 pounds of meat, add 2 minutes per pound.  Beef is picky that way I have noticed in my pressure cooker.  For a slow cooker you will cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or until tender.
